Hello, and happy 2026! I hope everyone's having a nice beginning of the year :] Today I’m going to do my first monthly recap! I plan to do one of this every month to yap about my projects and art. Let's get into it!

This past December was kinda chill. I haven't been drawing a lot this month because I was a bit art blocked and out of ideas… But I did post some new art by the end of the month. I posted twice: a traditional drawing I did for Christmas and a compilation of unfinished digital drawings.

POSTS:

What else… I also managed to post some tiktoks/reels. I’m not a proud Tiktok/IG Reels user but IDK sometimes you have to survive following the current internet trends to get some exposure. It doesn’t work most of the time but it’s worth it sometimes! I do like that there has been a short animation meme revival thanks to tiktok though. Those are the trends I want to start joining more this 2026 because they at least have effort behind them despite being short-form videos. I don’t like having to create quick slop to make algorithms happy, so I want to work with the short video format to make something more valuable, at least valuable to me. I still participate in quick trends because it’s easy, but eh, that’s the internet nowadays.

I also want to start making drawing process videos and vlogs but that’s too much effort and I would rather film that kind of content for Youtube than for Tiktok. We’ll see what happens, but I have making more video content as a goal for this year because, like it or not, it’s worth trying to grow my acc through it.

(I’m not resharing the reel posts here because they’re boring as hell, that’s it.)

I also posted some end of the year trends! So, an art vs artist and an art summary.

I don’t know what to say about this year’s art, but I guess I’m happy even if I didn’t improve as much as I expected. I think I hit my limit in terms of what I can learn by myself and I either learn fundamentals or won’t improve anymore. That’s why I’m planning to take art classes this year! But yeah despite not improving as much, I’m proud of some pieces I did this year, so I can’t complain.

Quoting the text I posted on social media: “This year was very productive for me but from my perspective it was also kinda bland lol… Anyways I wouldn’t say it wasn’t a good year: I started making zines (they’ll be public eventually I swear!), I did my first piece for a fanzine, I finished 2 sketchbooks, I drew a bazillion stickers because I also tabled for the first time at an artist alley…. I can’t complain can I? But I still wish I could’ve done more the way I wanted to. I think this year I learned a lot and figured out many things about my art, so I hope this means my art will change for the better in 2026 (but i’ll also keep drawing stupid fanart on the side, that’s what i do best anyway!). I always say this but thank you for staying and continuing to support me, even if my reach is low I’ll forever be thankful for the people I got to meet through my art ♥️ Happy 2026 🫶🙂‍↕️”

What now?

So what can you expect now? I honestly… don’t know XD I want to start drawing again, since I kinda stopped after last summer, but I don’t really have plans for this month.

My first new year’s resolution is to start !! going !! to art classes !! I really want to start studying fundamentals and learn stuff I’ve always been too lazy to learn. I want to improve my art further and learn the rules so I can break them :D And despite being self-taught, I think I can’t be self-taught forever. I hope art classes are useful for me and also I hope they help me a bit to start going outside and talking to people again (these past years have been very isolating… so yeah)

Other than that, my first long term goal for 2026 is finish designing the main three characters of my main webcomic project (which is untitled for now). I already finished and posted Olivia, so I just have 2 more characters to go… My second long term goal is starting Eclipse Keys, my magical girl webcomic! I don’t want to put too much pressure on myself, but posting at least one page + character presentations on Tapas this year would be nice.

Anyway, I think that’s all! Thank you if you’ve read everything and are interested in my December recap xD I will keep posting more on this blog, mostly these monthly recaps, but hopefully I’ll have more stuff to put here as time goes by! If you’re interested in following this blog, I’ll be posting my updates on my socials, my neocities profile and my RSS feed (you have no excuse to miss any of the updates! /joke)

See you later! <3
